How Authentication Works for Pre-Owned Pieces

“Verified before listing” appears on every LuxuriesCart piece. This guide explains what that means in practice: what is checked, why no single check fits every item, and what verification does β€” and does not β€” promise.

Every piece is verified before it is listed

No piece goes on sale without first being checked. The purpose of that check is simple: the item listed should be the item described β€” the brand named, the materials stated, and the condition shown in the photos. Verification is about matching the piece to its listing, not about grading it as new or guaranteeing it against all future wear.

LuxuriesCart is an independent reseller, not affiliated with, authorised by, or endorsed by any brand. Verification is our own process, applied before listing. It is not a brand service, and it does not make a pre-owned piece equivalent to a new one from the brand.

What the checks cover

The checks are general ones, drawn from how pre-owned designer goods are assessed, and the exact checks applied depend on the piece itself. Broadly, they cover:

The listing photos are part of this as well. Because every piece is photographed in detail, what verification found can be seen by the buyer too: the same hardware, stitching, markings, and interior that were checked are the ones shown in the photos. If anything in the photos raises a question for you, ask us with the SKU before ordering.

Why there is no single method for every item

Pre-owned designer goods span many brands, decades, materials, and item types β€” a canvas handbag, a leather wallet, and a metal bracelet have little in common beyond the brand name. A single test or a single checklist cannot sensibly cover all of them. That is why verification is described here in general terms: the checks applied are the ones relevant to that particular piece, rather than one identical procedure claimed for everything.

Be cautious of any seller that claims a single foolproof test for all items. In practice, authentication is a combination of checks, applied with judgement to the piece in front of you β€” and a seller that is honest about that is more trustworthy than one that is not.

What verification does not promise

Verification confirms that a piece matches its listing: brand, materials, construction, and condition as described. It does not promise that a pre-owned piece is in new condition β€” it is not; it is pre-owned, and the photos show its actual state. It does not promise that a piece will never show further wear β€” previous use continues from where it left off. And it does not change the nature of the purchase: you are buying a previously owned item from an independent reseller, not a new item from the brand.

There is one further protection worth knowing. If a recognised third-party authority determines that a piece is not authentic, contact us: in that case a full refund is given, including the original shipping cost. That claim window runs for three months from delivery. Keep the security tag intact and keep your order details β€” both matter if you ever need to make such a claim.

How this connects to returns

Verification and returns are related but separate. Verification happens before listing; returns happen after delivery, and only in three cases: the item is significantly different from its description or photos, has a major undisclosed defect, or is the wrong item. Contact within 14 days of the shipment date, keep the security tag intact, and wait for a return authorisation before sending anything back. The full terms are on the Returns & Refunds Policy page.

The short version

Every piece is checked before listing β€” materials, construction, hardware, markings, interior, and overall consistency β€” using the checks relevant to that piece. No single method is claimed for all items, and no verification turns a pre-owned piece into a new one. What you get is a previously owned item that matches its description, photographed in detail, sold by an independent reseller. Read the listing, look at the photos, and ask before ordering if anything is unclear.
