Shipping, Duties and Delivery for Pre-Owned Orders

Every LuxuriesCart order ships the same way: worldwide from China, via FedEx, as a single pre-owned piece. This guide explains the whole journey β€” how the shipping rate is set, how long delivery takes by region, and what duties mean for your total cost β€” so the price you see at checkout is never the last surprise. The full terms are on the Shipping Policy page; this guide summarises them in plain language.

ONE CARRIER, RATES CALCULATED AT CHECKOUT

LuxuriesCart ships exclusively with FedEx. There is no carrier to choose at checkout, and no flat shipping rate: the rate for your order is calculated at checkout based on the weight, dimensions and destination of the exact piece you are buying. Because every piece is a single, one-of-a-kind item, its size and weight are its own β€” a small wallet and a large handbag will not cost the same to ship, even to the same address.

That is why the store quotes shipping as ranges, not one number. The ranges below are the store’s published rates by destination region. Your exact rate appears at checkout once your address is entered, before you pay β€” so you always see the real figure for your order before committing.

DELIVERY TIMES AND RATES BY REGION

These are business-day estimates for delivery after dispatch, and they vary with the destination and the piece itself. Remote or less accessible addresses can take longer, and customs processing in the destination country is outside the carrier’s delivery estimate. If timing matters for your order β€” a gift, a trip, a deadline β€” allow a margin beyond the estimate rather than planning to the last day.

DUTIES, TAXES AND VAT: THE DDU RULE

This is the part of international pre-owned buying that most often surprises first-time buyers, so it is worth stating plainly. LuxuriesCart ships on DDU terms β€” “delivery duty unpaid.” That means duties, taxes and VAT charged by your country on import are your responsibility as the recipient. They are not included in the item price, and they are not included in the shipping rate calculated at checkout.

How much you pay depends on your country’s import rules and the value of the piece, and it is collected by the carrier or the customs authority in your country, not by LuxuriesCart. Before ordering, it is worth checking your country’s import thresholds and rates for personal goods, so you can factor that cost into your total. A piece that looks like a certain total at checkout may cost more once it lands β€” and that difference is duties, not an extra charge from the store.

REFUSED SHIPMENTS COST MORE THAN THE ORDER

If a shipment is refused β€” because duties are declined, the address cannot be delivered to, or the parcel is not collected β€” the costs do not simply disappear. Under the store’s terms, the customer bears the original shipping cost, any return import fees, and any applicable administrative fees for a refused shipment. Refusing a parcel to avoid duties therefore ends up costing more than accepting it and paying them, and it also means the piece has to travel back before any next step can be taken.

The practical advice is simple: enter a deliverable address, make sure someone can receive the parcel, and be ready for a customs payment if your country charges one. If you are unsure whether your address is deliverable, or you have a question about the shipping rate for a specific piece, contact us through the Contact Us page with the listing’s SKU before ordering.

HOW THIS FITS WITH RETURNS

Shipping and returns are separate questions, but they connect in one place: costs. Original shipping costs and any duties, taxes or VAT paid are not refundable, even when a return is accepted. Returns themselves are accepted only in three cases β€” the item is significantly different from its description or photos, it has a major defect that was not disclosed, or it is the wrong item β€” and only if you contact us within 14 days of the shipment date, keep the uniquely numbered security tag intact, and wait for a return authorisation before sending anything back. There are no change-of-mind returns or exchanges. The full terms are on the Returns & Refunds Policy page, and the buying checklist covers both shipping and returns in one pre-order pass.

THE SHORT VERSION

FedEx only, from China, worldwide. Rates at checkout by weight, dimensions and destination: Asia $20–$150 (5–8 business days), North America and Europe $30–$200 (7–10), Oceania and the Middle East $35–$200 (10–14), Latin America and Africa $50–$250 (10–14). Duties, taxes and VAT are yours to pay on import (DDU) β€” they are not in the price or the shipping rate. Refused shipments leave you with the original shipping, return import fees and admin fees. Read the Shipping Policy before ordering, check the rate at checkout, and browse all pre-owned pieces in the Shop.
